2023 VAMA SCHOLARSHIP

About the scholarship

The 2023 VAMA Scholarship recognizes student excellence in art, photography, illustration, and design. The scholarship is open to all students who explore creative practices and produce work as part of their studies at Los Angeles City College, via any course offered by the Visual And Media Arts Department. Work submitted by scholarship applicants are judged on artistic and creative merit by the faculty of the Visual and Media Arts Department. Students who are awarded the VAMA Scholarship have their work exhibited in the VAMA Scholarship Show at VAMA Gallery.

About the application

The application window for the 2023 VAMA Scholarship closed on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Check back for results of the application judging process!

Important Dates:

4/12: Last day to submit applications (at 11:59 p.m.)
4/19: Faculty judging concludes
4/28: Last day to deliver work to gallery for exhibition
5/10: Exhibition opens
5/30: First day to pick up work from exhibition
6/2: Last day to pick up work from exhibition

Scholarship Awards:

$500 - first place in each category
$250 - second place in each category
